Discussion topics will be assigned by module and open during the time the module is being covered. All original posting in discussions should be 300-400 words long, using at least one properly cited outside source in addition to the text. The content of your discussion should reflect the application of concepts learned in the module. Postings are expected to be your original thought including examples that illustrate the topic being discussed. After you have posted, you must read and comment on at least one other classmate's posting. This reply should be substantive, not limited to simple comments such as, "I agree," or "I enjoyed your post." Please see the rubric included in each discussion before posting.

View this TED TALK presented by Gaby Berrios. She is challenging the assumption that Gender-Based marketing is not the best way to go about creating a promotional campaign. In her 10-minute video, she shares the results of market research studies all over the world showing that gender is only a small factor when it comes to effective marketing. After you have viewed the video, summarize a couple of points that she made that you found particularly relevant, and share a time when you felt uncomfortable or irritated due to a gender-heavy focus. After you have posted your original comment, read some of your classmates' postings and share your comments with at least one. Consult the rubric attached before posting.
