Do you agree with my classmate discussion question below.
1. Classmate Question: Contrepreneurial crime is a form of crime in which a fraud company conducts a money-making scheme that resembles a legitimate business. Contrepreneurs are people who pose as ambitious entrepreneurs but really work in the spam industry. In such a scenario, the entrepreneur earns the customer's confidence and collects revenue. An example of such a crime is investment fraud.
We now live in a technologically driven world. As technology advanced, so did the number of crimes committed using it. Techno crimes or cybercrimes are crimes committed with the assistance of technology.
Today, cybercrime has erupted on a large scale, and the human brain has devised sophisticated computer and software programs to steal sensitive information. Software crimes aren't the only kind of cybercrime. Scams, social media bullying, malware embezzlement, identity theft, and other cybercrimes are all forms of technology crimes. Illicit drug transactions are also conducted online. The primary goal of cybercrime is to make money.
2. Classmate Question: In my opinion I believe that out of all three forms of crimes that we have discussed, contrepreneurial is the most serious. The reason for my theory is because although they are serious, techno crime is more out there and we are more aware of it going on and somewhat know how to avoid it. Enterprise crime is considered legal in some states while in others it is illegal. One who does commit enterprise crime in a state where it is illegal may try to state that they weren't aware because where they come from it is legal. In other word they can kind of get around it. As for contrepreneurial crime this is a crime where the "profession" of white collar con artists, who combine the characteristics of a swindler and an entrepreneur. This is serious to me because this is an actual person who is running a business and is pretending and hiding the fact that they are indeed doing something wrong and still getting people to do business with them.
