1 Classmate Question: I think that in order to increase awareness that LGBTQ rights are Human Rights we need to give society a refresher on the basics. Are LGBTQ people human beings? Yes. Therefore, they are entitled to the basic rights all human beings are entitled to such as dignity, respect, freedom and equality (Equality and Human Rights Commission, 2019). In America, this also means LGBTQ people are entitled to the civil rights afforded every citizen in this country. That is, they are entitled to live in America without discrimination or unfair treatment (FindLaw, 2021). It is clear though that this is not happening. There are violent crimes targeting the LGBTQ community. There is discrimination against transgender people in the hiring process and in the workplace. There is the verbal and psychological as well as physical abuse that young LGBTQ people have to suffer at school.

I think that in order to change how LGBTQ people are discriminated against and stigmatized, we need to start young. We need to educate our young people at school about what it means to be LGBTQ and what it doesnt mean. This means educating the educators first so that they are equipped to teach students and so that they are also able to better support LGBTQ students they come into contact with. So much of what we learn is through what we experience and see, not just what we are told. If we can get educators on board, then they will start demonstrating acceptance of LGBTQ people within our educational institutions to the wider student population. We also need to normalize identifying as LGBTQ in the media which means seeing more LGBTQ people in government, politics, film, education etc. We also need to ensure that anyone or organization who discriminates on the basis of someone being LGBTQ is held accountable by the law. The more we demonstrate that we as a society refuse to accept the unfair, discriminatory treatment of someone just because of their sexual orientation or identity, the more we can start to turn the tide against those who harbor such beliefs.

2 Classmate Question: This is a very difficult situation that Charlie is in, he should not jump the gun and mess around with the other man and mess up his family due to his feelings of wanting another partner. Charlie needs to take some time to realize what is at hand if one decision is made over the other. On one hand he has been married for 30 years and has a daughter and on the other side if Charlie is really indeed attracted to the opposite sex then by lying to his wife that is also considered cheating in my viewpoint because you are having that one person believe that you are fully invested in them but in reality you are thinking of other relationships. I believe if Charlie really wants to pursue his desires then he really needs to sit is wife down and tell her how he is feeling and they should both go to counseling together to figure out a solution.

3 Classmate Question: three types of residential locations that can utilize the services of a security company are:

Hospitals and Healthcare Facilities- Hospitals tend to face security challenges related to the safety of patients and employees. Sometimes hurt gang members go to hospitals after they are shot or stabbed and go and get treated. Sometimes other gang members would go back to the hospital to finish the job and that can put other patients and employees in harms way.

Laboratories- Laboratories hold very delicate chemicals and materials that can be used as terrorism agents. Many infections can occur to people worldwide if things are leaked which can kill people. Safety is important because it's best to make sure that no one gets sick.

Educational Facilities- Many shootings had occurred in schools over the past years. This caused many deaths in these schools and many lives of kids were lost. Families were devastated and lost their child and family members. Schools need a good safety program in order to protect the students and staffs from violence either between students or an outsider to the school.

4 Classmate Question: I believe that all of the forms of governmental crimes that we have discussed somewhat falls on the same level of dangerousness, However Id say that occupational crime would be a bit more dangerous because their are different levels of occupational crime that can be committed such as money laundering, embezzlement, altering records, tax fraud, etc. Their is so much that is going on in occupational crime plus the fact that they usually do not get caught right away but when they do all of that past crime will come up along with the worst consequences. There are so many people who would sacrifice their legal occupation to get a part of something that is illegal just for profit or any type of reward or financial gain.
