Question:
Fifteen years ago, Han Ji-pyeong wrote many letters to Soe Dal-mi under a pen name of ‘Nam Do-san’. The letters became a lasting memory for her, and she keeps looking for this ‘Do-san’ ever since.
Fifteen years letter, due to some strange circumstances, Dal-mi, the real Do-san, and Ji-pyeong crossed path in Sandbox, a start-up incubator. This real Do-san does not know anything about the letters. However, because Ji-pyeong asked him, he plays along by pretending to be ‘the Do-san from the letter’.
Over time, the three of them are involved in a love triangle. As expected, both Dal-mi and Do- san develop feelings toward each other without knowing that he is not the letters’ writer. On the other hand, Ji-pyeong has that feeling too towards Dal-mi but for some reason cannot say it aloud without confessing all the lies. Both Do-san and Ji-pyeong are currently torn apart between having to confess about the real writer of the letters (thus revealing all their lies and breaks her heart) or remains silent.
Both have assed their chances of getting Dal-mi’s heart and the result are as follows:
If both remain silent (as it is now), Do-san has a 87.5% chance to be with her while Ji-
pyeong’s chance is at best 14.3%
If both confess, their chances to get her become equal (50%-50%) because Dal-mi
becomes confused about whom to choose as both were lying and confessing
If Ji-pyeong confesses but Do-san remains silent, Do-san chances improved to 66.7%
while Do-san chances down to 33.3% as she losses her trust with Do-san
If Do-san confesses but Ji-pyeong remains silent, Do-san chances improved to 62.5% while Ji-pyeong chances down to 37.5% because despite being lied, she appreciates
Do-san for saying the truth.
