A base rate fallacy can occur within a work environment, establishing false assumptions for example that certain job stereotypes in which only a certain sex dominates a field. Therefore, a hospital has nursing and but few providers, so employees 1000 nurses and ten physicians. The stereotype is that the physicians are married with kids, so about 15% of the people that work in the hospital are married. Therefore, it accounts for 80% of the hospital's physicians, but 5% of the nurses since it is more common.
