The article Estimating the 95% confidence interval for survival gain between an experimental anti-cancer treatment and a control published in pubmed analyses the effect of cancer treatments on patients to test the effectivity of thoses treatments. The controlled study was done on two groups, and the variable studied is the median survival rate. For the experimental group, 66 patients have been given an anti-cancer treatment, the median survival rate being 6.6 months and the 95% confidence interval for the median is [4.1, 8.3] On the other hand, the control group was formed of 67 patients, the median survival rate was 4.1 months, and the 95% confidence interval for the median survival rate being [2.8 , 5.4] Although the data of this study does not enable us to jump directly into conclusions as the test is not statistically significant, but such findings increase our understanding of cancer and survival rates.

otheeswaran et al (2016) studies the prevalence of diabetics developing retinopathy in India. Due to the lack of healthcare resources and preventative care in India, the risks of diabetics developing complications such as diabetic retinopathy are higher. This research consists of seven studies over the span of 15 years (1999-2014). The sample was made up of 8,315 persons with diabetes. The authors completed a meta-analysis which showed that 14.9% (95% CI 10.7-19.0) of diabetics were 30 years or older and 18.1% (95% CI 14.8-21.4) of those 50 or older had diabetic retinopathy. The conclusion of this study was that the prevalence of diabetic retinopathy in India was lower than in higher-income countries. This could be for several reasons such as less diagnoses, lower life expectancy, or methodology limits.
