Using the discretization scheme shown in the figure, determine the steady state temperature values at the 6 nodes, the heat transfer from the fin for W=1m and the fin efficiency and fin effectiveness. REDO the problem assuming 24 nodes and check if the answers are different. How does your numerical solution correspond to the exact solution? Can you modify your code for a rectangular (cuboidal) shaped fin that has the same amount (and type) of material as the triangular fin (i.e., both the fins have the same volume, the same width and length) and compare your results between both the fin crosssections? Which is better? Can you explain why?
