Quality Management (QM) sustainability is achieved through systematic building, Six Sigma principles, and DEI initiatives. These elements ensure longevity, continuous improvement, and diverse talent recruitment.

Sustainability is the goal of Quality Management (QM). If the QM is not repeatable and scalable to the entire organization, what good does it provide? By building a QM systematically and methodically, organizations can ensure the longevity of the QM system being created. When focusing on the fundamentals, the organization can build and inspect the QM that best suits its organization. The focus on continuous improvement as methodologies are embedded into the organization's culture will maintain the sustainability of the organization's QM.

The eight principles of Six Sigma that are applied when implementing a QMS are keys to the sustainability of QM. The Commitment from leadership and top-level executives shows that QM is top of mind at the organization and ingrained into the culture. Then, integrating with existing initiatives, strategies, and performance measurements, focusing on the customer, Sox Sigma will have a clear justification within the organization's mission and strategic direction. Process thinking, such as mapping a business process, is a crucial activity within Six Sigma, "as is a disciplined approach to the information gathering, analysis, and problem-solving" (Evals et al., 2020, p. 679). Disciplined customer and market intelligence gathering knowing the customer needs is vital to the focus of Six Sigma. The bottom line is to produce savings within short and long terms. Leadership in the trenches is vital to Six Sigma as it puts all levels within the organization in participation roles to attack problems using the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control (DMAIC) approach. Adding Continuous training, reinforcement, and rewards helps ensure the organization's sustainability. The Baldridge model also focuses on Leadership, alignment of processes, and strategic objectives. Along with "challenges and advantages, and with performance measures; process thinking; customer knowledge; a focus on results; and effective workforce management practices such as training and rewards and recognition" (Evals et al., 2020, p. 679). The organization needs to work on sustainability. First and foremost is adoption; within the organization, much autonomy has developed into poor practices where customer value and perception of the organization's value have dropped. Turnover and lack of new hire training have significantly impacted the organization; with no standard onboarding or training, there has been a significant decline in adaptability and accountability. Leadership has adjusted focus, mission, and direction too many times, where the overall objective of the organization has been lost and needs to be clarified. These issues currently impact the organization as a whole and have reduced the ability to grow, meet, and exceed goals. How does diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) influence your sustainability plans?

Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) play a significant role in shaping the strategic direction of an organization. Ensuring the organization recruits, hires, and retains top talent, including women, men, and diverse candidates, enriches its intellectual property. These employees lead Employee readiness groups and multicultural events, providing valuable insights into different markets and contributing to the organization's strategic movements.
