Collectively, your group will be acting as the HR Manager for a small retail organization in Toronto with 100 employees located in an urban community. You have been tasked to hire an entry level HR Coordinator to assist you as your company is growing and will soon open a second location! The Talent Acquisition Project (part 1) is worth 15% of your course grade and there are three major components to this project: Project Component Due Date Part 1 Organization, Job Analysis & Sourcing Week 7 by 11:59pm on July 16th, 2021 Part 2 Candidate Selection Week 12 by 11:59pm on Aug 6th, 2021 Part 1: Organization, Job Analysis & Sourcing The first step in developing your Talent Acquisition plan is to ensure that you fully understand your organization as well as the knowledge, skills, abilities, other attributes (KSAOs) and competencies required for this entry level HR Coordinator position. As such, part 1 of this project is to utilize content from Lecture to conduct a job analysis and create a job description for the entry level HR Coordinator role. You will also be identifying three recruitment sources (see lecture on recruitment sources) that you will use to generate an applicant pool for your entry level HR Coordinator position e.g., what sources or methods will you use to reach potential qualified applicants? Submissions must include the following: 1. Organizational Overview: Include a description of your fictional organization in Toronto. Be creative! You know that you are a small retail organization located in an urban setting but what do you sell? What is your companys name? What makes your organization unique? When you write this section of your paper think of it like the About Us section of a companys website. Include an employee value proposition statement. Describe the key perks offered by your company as an employer and answer the question why would someone want to work for you? What do you offer your employees in exchange for their contributions? Your employee value proposition must be appropriate for a small retail organization. 2. Job Analysis: Conduct a job analysis by selecting at least three data sources to help you identify the primary responsibilities and job specifications for this entry level HR Coordinator role (Remember, regardless of the type of organization, everyone is hiring an entry level HR Coordinator). One data source must be the National Occupational Classification (NOC) system. Other sources of data can include existing documentation such as job descriptions for a similar HR Coordinator role in a comparable organization, internet sources such as Ontario Skills Passport and/or job posting sites, such as Indeed, Monster or you can actually interview a job incumbent. You must cite (in APA format) and describe each data source and explain why you chose these sources how will these sources enhance the defensibility of your job analysis process? Remember, job sites such as Indeed are NOT a data source a job posting found on indeed, would be the data source. 3. Job Description: Using the information gathered from your job analysis data, create an entry level HR Coordinator job description using the job description template found on Moodle in the Project Folder. You are creating a job description and not a job advertisement/posting. Your job description must be complete and included but not limited to; 8 to 10 job tasks/responsibilities, credentials including education and designations, abilities and etc. 4. Recruitment Sources: Describe three specific internal and/or external recruitment sources that you will use to reach candidates (it is not sufficient to say, for example, the internet what is the specific job site?). Include your rationale for selecting these sources. Why do you believe that these sources will help you generate an applicant pool of qualified candidates? Submissions must be in word format, contain a title page with each group members first and last names, and be double spaced. Include a reference section in APA format. One submission per group to be submitted to the Assignment folder on Moodle by the due date. Resources: 1. You must use the job description template found on Moodle to complete part 1 of the project. 2. Additional resources found to help you with this project include: o Link to the National Occupational Classification Index for job analysis data. o Job description template and example of a completed job description. o Harvard Competency Dictionary and Values and Competency Dictionary. o Example of an interview scoring guide. Check spelling, grammar and formatting in your submissions as deductions for errors in these areas will be made when marking. 3. The penalty for a late assignment is 20% per calendar day. 4. Academic Integrity: All group members together are responsible for the academic integrity of any group submissions. All references/sources used must be included using APA formatting. It is critical for ALL members to review and approve the finished product in advance of its due date. 5. Each group member must retain copies of their work as evidence of their contributions. 6. Each team member must submit the group paper on their own in Moodle under the assignment shell on the due date. Note: Please do not define or explain any of the training processes, activities, methods, headingare, but rather explain how their relevancy to your choices.
