I have a quick question for a tutor. I created a 14 page paper over marital status and overall life satisfaction. The participants in the study gave their marital status and a score between 1-10 to represent their overall life satisfaction scores. My professor recently gave me a low grade and suggested that both of my data sets were nominal and that I could not use a T-Test to compare the overall means of life satisfaction between the married and unmarried participants. Is this true? If I did indeed use the wrong test and this is all nominal data, which type of parametric test should I use?
