Three standard forms of contract conditions (FIDIC, JCT, and NEC) incorporate "adjudication" as a step in their dispute resolution mechanism, with the lengths of the period allocated for this step ranging from 30 to 84 days. A recent study revealed that the adjudication process may involve several means of inquiry beyond the typical reliance on document submissions, like site visits, meetings, call conferences, etc. In addition, the ICC guidelines prescribe certain stations/steps that their recommended 90-day adjudication period may embed. Using the information offered by these two sources, propose three alternative constructs (timelines) for conducting the adjudication process: the first one where the adjudication conclusion is expected to be rendered in 30 days, the second in 42 days, and the third in 84 days.
