In a few words I need a substantive comment on this post:

Before reading this question I did not see any downfall in budgeting Afterall, it is designed to help us be financially smart right? After thinking about it budgeting can be negative because it is limiting. The purpose of having a budget is to make sure that you have enough to pay for things, and that you do not run out of money. This can be limiting if you are trying to grow and scale, or if you have a product based business like me and you are trying to purchase inventory for seasonal launches but do not have the sales to pay for it. You can either get into your savings or use some of the other budget with the intent to pay it back, but this defeats the purpose of having a budget. It is also time consuming and something that you have to find the time to analyze and adjust as you grow or as sales decrease. If you give the task to someone else and they budget wrong then you are going to be set back same way as if an employee doesn't stick to the budget.
