Question: Individual Assignment: You will create a lesson plan using the 7 steps of the Training Design Process in Chapter 1 , Figure 1 . 2

Individual Assignment:
You will create a lesson plan using the 7 steps of the Training Design Process in Chapter 1, Figure 1.2- which is the basis of this course. The lesson plan should be written so that an instructor could pick up your instructions and facilitate the 3 hour session. This means you need to provide significant guidance in terms of what to do and how to set up the activities.
Your lesson plan will include the following components:
1. Chart outline of session that provides information about:
o An overview of each activity planned (use at least 2 instructional methods)
o The time allotted for the activity
o Detailed instructions on how to facilitate the activity, technology to be used, etc (remember, enough detail for someone else to lead the session)
o Material(s) required for the activity
o Any other relevant information that would assist the facilitator in implementing the activity
2. The learning objectives for the session
3. Training evaluation for your session by using evaluation method of your choice.
Lesson Plan: Introduction to Effective Communication Skills
Learning Objectives:
By the end of this 3-hour session, participants will be able to:
Define effective communication and its importance in personal and professional contexts.
Identify barriers to effective communication and strategies to overcome them.
Practice active listening and assertive communication techniques.
Demonstrate effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
Training Evaluation:
To evaluate the effectiveness of this session, we will use a pre- and post-test survey. Participants will complete a short questionnaire at the beginning of the session to assess their current understanding of communication skills. The same questionnaire will be administered at the end of the session to measure knowledge gained and changes in attitudes towards effective communication. Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to provide feedback through a post-session survey, allowing us to gather insights on the session's strengths and areas for improvement.

Handouts and materials for activities should be prepared and distributed in advance.
Break times should be strictly observed to allow participants to rest and refresh.
Facilitators should encourage active participation and create a supportive environment for role-playing activities.
