Module 4 : Research and Citation

Module 4 Discussion Instructions

Research and citation are key parts of university culture. Scholars, researchers, and students are expected to research their ideas and to "show their work." That is, when we use information or ideas that are not our own, we are expected to clearly demonstrate where we got it. Let's take a moment to talk about how these expectations may be different from the expectations we experienced in high school, and how the expectations differ from one class to another.

Write a 200-300 word discussion post in which you talk about your experience with research and with citing your sources. What parts of it do you like? What parts are new and different? What similarities do you see between expectations in your different classes? What differences? What do you struggle with?

Post your responses in the discussion forum Research and Citation.
