Need help in solving and putting this problem in PROJECT PLAN 365

The Racal Company specializes in developing and selling a wide range of high-quality motor bikes. Sales representatives report that there is a growing demand for racing motor bikes. Racals President, Mr. Perez Racal, is excited about the possibilities and predicts that one day these kinds of motor bikes will be featured in Asian X-Games events in the Philippines. Racal is a small company and uses a strong organizational matrix to optimally utilize limited manpower.

The Golden Zumabike project has the following project priorities:

  • Timing of project: enhancement, in order to deliver the project within schedule
  • Scope of the project: process efficiency, reducing delays on bottleneck steps
  • Cost of the project: expense minimization, resulting in increased profit margins

You are a member of a project team assigned to develop a new racing motor bike named Golden Zumabike. Table 1 below contains the information necessary to create a project schedule.

For the purpose of this case, assume the following:

  • Project begins March 18, 2020.
  • The only holidays observed in a calendar year are weekends (Saturday and Sunday). Special holidays, such as Christmas Day and New Years Day, are not included.
  • The project team works 8-hour days, Monday through Friday.
  • No overtime is allowed. Work shift is only from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch break included).
  • Budget for resources other than manpower (e.g.: supplies, equipment, inventory, electricity) are all provided for. There is a separate budget for commercial production and distribution of the product after the completion of Golden Zumabike prototyping project.
  • The following personnel have been assigned to the Golden Zumabike project (Table 2 below):

Guide Questions:

  • Create a project Gantt chart for the creation of Golden Zumabike.
  • When (or what exact date) is the project estimated to be completed?
  • How long (in days) will the project take?
  • Which activity or step has the greatest amount of slack? (Slack: it is a time an activity can be delayed before it becomes critical).
  • Which activity paths or steps are in the projects critical path? (Critical Path: it is the longest activity paths through the network / project. The critical path can be distinguished by identifying the collection of activities that all have the same minimum or zero slack).
  • How much is the manpower total budget (in PhP), if all manpower resources are allocated per activity or step?
