Pl Refer AWS D1.1 : 2015

For the butt joint and T joint, ( one each)  prepare the following :

1 Prepare pre qualified WPS .
a} Assume the material as IS 2062 Gr 300 A
b) Assume the material as Group I as per Table 3.1  and category A as per Table 3.2
c) use the electrode catalog of lincoln or esab electrodes for the current selection, tensile properties, etc.



2 Prepare the WPS by qualification
Assume that you are doing the qualification
Plan the steps in
a) preparing the plate
b) Position for welding ( depends on how you plan to weld)
c) estimate the pre heat required
d) tests required
e) acceptance norms for mech test
f) filled WPS, owe ( imaginary values ).
