If you still get the certificate issue you did something wrong Configure OWA to not require the domain name when users sign in Take a screenshot of the DNS entry, a screenshot of the certificate request and that the certificate is installed, a screenshot of the working certificate on the website (as well as the DNS) and a screenshot of the owa not asking for the domain and and the settings you used to do that.
