Background
Are you in control of your professional development? Do you have a clear and inspiring vision of what you want to achieve in the future and how to get there? The professional skill development assignment will help you nameand refine your professional goals, identify the skills you need to acquire or level up, and develop and implement an action plan to level up those skills.
Assignment Purpose
The purpose of this assignment is to:
Allow you to assess your current personal level of proficiency in these skills.
Support you in identifying two primary skill development goals.
Connect you with resources that will allow you to level up your skills and meet your goals.
Guide you through the process of documenting your development in an ePortfolio.
You will work on this assignment throughout the semester and will receive feedback along the way.
*Note: You may not select emotional intelligence skills and not select time management skills for this assignment as we will focus on these two skills in other assignments in this course.
How this Assignment Works
You will complete this assignment in 3parts: (1) Self-assessment and skills selection (5%),(2) Skill development plan (10%),(3) Skill development reflection and assets in ePorfolio(10%)
Grading for this assignment will be done as follows:
o You will receive full marks (100%= complete) for assignments that meet all success criteria (see below)
o Assignments that do not meet all criteria will be returned for revision with no grade given.
o You will have one week to resubmit assignments with required revisions to earn full marks.
o You will receive no marks (0%) if you do not resubmit assignments by the deadline
Part 1: Self-Assessmentand Skill Selection (5%)
What you need to do:
1. Write a one-paragraph introduction about yourself, your name, which stage of your career you are at and your professional career goal(s) or life goals you may have.
2. Complete the professional skills self-assessment provided (see below)
3. Complete the professional skills self-assessment reflection (questions below).
4. Submit the assessment and reflection as a single Word document. A title page is not needed. Include your name, student number, and the date on the first page of the assignment.
