We have learnt about Theory of Change (ToC), including its definition, key elements, the role it plays in planning and design, and how it builds on the root cause analysis. Think back to a personal or professional project or programme you managed or participated in. Draw on those experiences, along with what you have learnt about ToC, to discuss the following questions:

• Why do you think it is important in programme planning and design to clearly define the sequence of intervention actions and use it to inform the intervention's strategies?
• In programmes on which you have worked, how did your organisation identify the target population groups, possible intervention strategies, desirable outcomes, and assumptions of the intervention? How would the intervention have benefitted from more clarity in the key elements of ToC?
