Quality Deployment Function (QFD) is a planning process to guide the design, manufacture, and marketing of goods & services which deeply embeds the voice of the customer into the development process. QFD utilises four Houses of Quality to relate the voice of the customer to (1) technical requirements, (2) component requirements, (3) process control plans, and (4) manufacturing operations of the product or service. A House of Quality can be used to develop and deploy targets to gain competitive advantage over the competition. You are required to construct a 1st QFD House of Quality for a product or service. You may either use a product/service from your own employment or use a generic product/service if an employment-based option proves too problematic; check out the QFD examples on Blackboard! The voice of the customer is the primary input to the QFD process. For this assignment at least 5 separate customer inputs should be used. For competitor evaluation you should use at least 3 competitors. Your report should include an explanation and commentary on the QFD methodology.
