Team Briefing
Good morning ladies and gentlemen, As some of you would have heard, yesterday afternoon there was a bank robbery in Busy Street. Two people entered the bank and threatened the bank teller with a shotgun. They told the teller to fill two large bags with used money from the till, and give it to them. The teller then filled the bags with the cash and gave it to the robbers. The robbers ran out of the bank and jumped into a getaway car that was awaiting for them. A witness said the car was a metallic red swift, and the registration number was CTL-113 but he was not sure about it. Two hours later the car was found abandoned on the main highway but the number plate was missing. After investigation we discovered that the number plates belonged to a stolen Fiat UNO and we are going to contact the original owner to find out when the car was stolen. The red swift was also a stolen vehicle, and we are checking with the transport department to ascertain its owner.
We estimate that the total amount of money stole was approximately Rs.25, 00,000/=that is all we know at the moment, but we would appreciate any information the public can give. Please note that there is a reward for Rs.50, 000/=if the robbers are caught.
You have just heard the official story. The truth is a little different, two men entered the busy street bank and asked to see the bank manager. One of the employees asked them to wait, and after 15 minutes took them to the managers office. Five minutes later one of the men came out of the office and demanded to leave the office from the back door. The man had a gun so the assistant manager agreed to his demand. When the back door was open, both men left and took the manager and the assistant manage with them. Approximately 25 minutes ago, the bank managers wife received a phone call from the men saying that if they did not receive Rs.50, 00,000/= within six hours, they would kill the manager and the assistant manager. This is the reason we have not given the full story to the press because the kidnappers insisted there should be no police involvement. The description regarding the car, is correct so please listen carefully and I will explain what we will do next.
The men told the managers wife to go to the local train station tomorrow night and get the 2030 hrs. Train to ABC Station, which is only 20 minutes away. We will have the money ready by then. The men do not know what the wife looks like, but they told her to carry a blue bag so we are going to send a woman police officer in her place and she will give the cash to the kidnappers when they call her on her mobile phone. We already have 25 police officers at the ABC Station and hope everything will go according to the plan.
