Read the text below what are some constructive critism and helpful comments that can be given on this written article based on the reference?

In the DIT8020 Research in business class u1D1 asks us to discuss four topics related to this weeks assignment. The first question is 1) What is the researcher's justification for reviewing the peer-reviewed article? I have struggled with this question for 2 days and I think the peer-reviewed article is Welchs Exploring the impact of communication technologies on business travel. I am the researcher and my justification for reviewing the article is to analyze the article from a literature review perspective to answer the next 3 questions which are 2) How is the source an example of applied business research? 3) How did the author defend the use of a particular research method and design? 4) What was the rationale for the author's academic foundation?

As a researcher I would justify using this peer-reviewed article if I was addressing problems in the business traveler supporting industries emphasizing the importance of results and conclusions in other studies, the relevant data and trends from previous research, and particular methods or designs that could be duplicated or should be avoided. (Cooper & Schindler, 2014) In order to provide conclusions that could be auctioned by managers in business traveler support industries.

The source is an example of applied business research containing a focus on problem solving to find answers that could be used to make decisions by managers. (Cooper & Schindler, 2014) When research collects information on the costs of processes whose purpose is to establish a basis for decision making it is applied research. (Merriam, 2009) The research in the study hopes to contribute improving business practices for airlines and hospitality industries that participate in meeting the needs of business travelers. It highlights that its findings could help the airline and hospitality industries target business travelers for training purposes as a growth business. (Welch, 2014)

The author used the purposive sampling technique as the research design for this study, separated the population into four business categories, interviewed 5 participants in each category, and divided the participants into 3 industries using a sampling size of 60 interviews. (Welch, 2014) Welch justified this use by Bernard (2000) who defined the qualitative sample size to be between 15-60 participants to establish themes and an accurate reflection of the phenomenon under study.

The academic foundation focused on three general areas: how airlines have affected business travelers, how businesses use technology to communicate, and how motivation-opportunity-ability theory applies. (Welch, 2014) The academic foundation is extensive and supportive of the research questions. According to Welchs literature review there seems to be a lack of clarity on when United States business professionals travel or use communication-assisted technology, and that potential themes that could emerge as to why business travelers might consider travel for versus computer mediated communication. The application of the motivation-opportunity-ability theory by airlines and other business traveler supportive industries is a crucial element for airlines and other supportive industries to communicate the benefits that they offer. (Welch, 2014)
