Introduction
According to Williams (2016), negative stereotypes and images of Black people in our culture literally create and sustain institutional and individual discrimination. Critical race theory (CRT) holds that discrimination, racism and stereotypes are ubiquitous, and racism is an everyday experience for Black Americans. The experiences of discrimination and racism can lead to exclusive work environments and result in psychological, emotional, physical and social traumas for Black Americans. Those traumas can impact their performance in the work environment.
After reading the learning material in the textbook, watching the weekly videos, reading other supplemental material, and reviewing the document titled Diversity Theories, respond to the Assignment Tasks below.

Discuss the impact of racism in the United States and how critical race theory (CRT) explains the impact of racism on Black Americans in society, the workplace and education.
Explain and provide an example of how anti-black racism in the workplace can impact the psychological, emotional, physical, and social well-being of Black employees and lead to exclusive work environments.
Provide examples of the psychological, emotional, physical, and social well-being issues Black employees may experience in the workplace.
Explain how affirmative action can help employers create inclusive work environments and dismantle anti-black racism in the workplace. Provide examples.
Identify one theory from the Diversity Theory document, discuss and explain the theory in your own words, and apply the theory to explain how anti-black racism operates in the workplace.
Explain how one of the Recommendations on pp. 138-139 of the textbook can help address issues impacting Black Americans in the workplace and racial equity. Explain in detail, how the recommendation would make a significant difference in the workplace experiences for native and immigrant Black people.
Responses must include a discussion on all of the following:
Critical race theory (CRT), affirmative action, The Crown Act, unequal pay for Black Americans, anti-Black racism, institutional, systemic and individual racism, racial equity, discrimination and stereotypes.
