These programs are designed to help people understand their relationship with money, build confidence in how they spend money, and how to become stable with their finances. Programs like these are important to have. If a person is knowledgeable of their finances, then they will be able to make good financial decisions because they are in control. One structural economic reason that domestic violence occurs is the fact that women do not earn the same wage as a man. Keeping women at a lower pay in addition to being in IPV relationships, is a reason why many times domestic violence can occur. If the relationship, in my opinion, is already hostile and toxic, then the added factors such as now earning enough money to be able to survive on their own a contributing factors. Many women remain in IPV relationships due to financial dependency. My perception after reading Chapter 2 did not change regarding the relationship between poverty and domestic violence as I have always known that both go together
