Smith claims Jones has been slandering him among their mutual friends and business associates. Smith sues Jones and the parties enter into mediation with Nancy Nice. during the mediation, Nancy agrees with Smith that Jones has said inappropriate things. Nancy soothes the parties, and they eventually agree to a settlement wherein no money is exchanged, and Jones agrees to apologize and not to talk about Smith again.
