Social Media is ever evolving. The students will get an opportunity to gain a clear understanding of how Information Systems Department provide support to various departments in regards to Social Media Outlets. Information Systems Department should research, and provide departments with an approval and change process to use Social Media Outlets. This information will allow departments to be financially responsible, and provide value to their respective corporation. Students will be able to provide a recommendation through the exploration and assessment of Social Media Outlets, identifying the positive and negative impacts they have on other corporations. The Social Media Outlets with the least amount of negative impacts should be included in the recommendation.

Objective

Students will be able explore Social Media Outlets, and come up with a recommendation on which Social Media Outlets the company departments should utilize. At completion of this assignment, an approval and change management process will be developed to address the ability for departments to add or discontinue the use of Social Media Outlets.

Steps
  1. Explore and assess the various social media outlets.
    1. Research and select a company that use at least four (ideally five or more) Social Media Outlet. How many do they use? What are some of the positive and negative impacts does the Social Media Outlets have on the company you researched? This information should be supported by references.
    2. Rank the outlets you found: Name of outlet; Positive impacts; Negative impacts (risks). The Social Media outlets with the more positive impacts should be ranked higher than the ones with more negative impacts.
  2. Based on assessment, which Social Media Outlets are recommended and why.
  3. Once the student comes up with a recommendation for the company, a process is outlined for the company departments to get approval to add or delete Social Media Outlets.
    1. This process should include a step for the departments to send a request to Information Systems Department and wait for their approval to add or delete the use of a Social Media Outlet.
    2. Include review and approval from Legal Department for final approval.
