Question:
Suppose you found yourself in a medical emergency where a person undergoing cardiac arrest and in need of CPR was not wearing a legal ID form as those mentioned above, but he or she is with family/friends who insist that the victim does not want to be resuscitated. What would you then do? Take action and provide CPR? Or stand by and the family/friends have asked? Explain your decision.
Do you think it would be appropriate for someone to administer CPR if he or she is not fully trained? If this same person providing CPR harms the victim (e.g. breaks a rib), is it acceptable for a family member of the victim to sue the resuscitator?
