Task 1 - Structural Design Multiple lifeboats will be hanged on the side of the ferry. For this, you are to assess the support beams and model each as shown in Figure 1. Assume that the section's material has a Young's Modulus of 195 GPa -3 m 5m -3 m B 7 kN/m Figure 1 a. Calculate the support reaction at A and B. b. If a maximum deflection of 2.5 mm and slope of 2.819 104 are allowed, review the universal beams in Appendix 1 and select one that conforms to the given design parameters. c. Critique and thoroughly justify your choice using a computer software of your preference. Explain the assumptions made, which could have altered your decision. Consider the boundary conditions of the proposed model. Also, include the diagrams and relevant numbers from the program used.
