Construction, renovation or redesign of an infrastructure (community housing, hospital,
animal shelter, railway line, data centre, etc.).
Business Transformation:
o A B2C system that transforms an existing brick-and-mortar" business (a business that
offers products and services to its customers face-to-face in offices or stores) to an
online supply chain offering that would include customer service, marketing, sales,
logistics and operations.
o A system to replace an organization's manual processes (e.g. onboarding process for
new employees, customer complaint handling process, etc.).
Developing new programs (wellness programs, educational programs, etc.).
The Project will not be Event Management of Weddings or
birthday parties.
The Project specifications are as follows:
Project Duration: Minimum 3 months (from start to conclusion)
Minimum project budget: $100,000 CAN
Project Location: Canada
The project product or service must have a Sponsor
Your team will take on the role of the Project Manager. Your team cannot play any other
role.
The project must meet a business need
A lesson learned session with your team must be conducted at the end of the project

Project Part 1(10%)
Initiating
This is the first part of your assignment, where you will describe a problem/opportunity;
identify the alternatives (at least 3) to solve the problem or to explore the opportunity; indicate
the select alternative and create the initial project documents.
1. Business Case and Project Charter (50 points)
Based on your project choice, create a business case and a project charter for your project.
Provide as many details as possible as these documents will serve as the basis for your project
planning.
2. Stakeholder Register (10 points)
You must identify all stakeholders for your project creating a stakeholder register, including:
Minimum 15 stakeholders
Internal and external stakeholders including government (permits)
Their interest/participation in the project
3. Stakeholder Assessment (30 points) and Power/Interest grid (10 points)
Based on your stakeholder register, analyze your stakeholders identifying their power and
interest in your project. Assess their engagement level and describe potential management
strategies to deal with them. The management strategies need to be specific for your
project/stakeholder.
