I would like to research Australia's economy. The reason I decided on Australia is because when I was younger, my parents would house International students for the school year and I met one of my closet friends to this day who was from Australia. Currently, Australia has seen an increase in unemployment and the economy is pretty weak. Inflation is the biggest issue for them currently and they also share similar issues that the United States is facing. For example the housing prices are one of the major inflation issues that Australians are dealing with currently. Overall there is a lot of uncertainty for Australians and since they have almost parallel experiences as the United States, I feel as though it will be beneficial to learn from Australia's situation. It seems Spain's economy is expected to increase by 2.1% in 2024 and 1.9% in 2025 due to strong domestic demand and solid labor markets. Inflation is predicted to progressively decline, hitting 2.3% in 2025. The government deficit is expected to reduce as energy-related policies are phased out, and debt-to-GDP ratios will also decrease. However, risks remain due to unclear external demand and private sector caution. Unemployment is expected to drop but remain very high at 11.1% by 2025 (EU, 2024). I am originally from Puerto Rico, and it has quite a bit of history with Spain. Additionally, I have heard that Spain has ranked as one of the top countries for its quality of life and is a country I have considered moving to in the future. Therefore, I would like to know more about its economic status and potential. Reference: European Commission. (May 15, 2024).
