In this assignment you have to create your own 8x1 multiplexer (mux) and 3x8 decoder
with the three basic logic gates: AND, OR, NOT, using the design process covered in
class (designing a truth table, deriving Boolean equations from the table, creating a
circuit from equations). With those components, you will complete a verification circuit
(provided in a template, see figure 1) that will display one of eight given hexadecimal
values on a hex display, while an array of LEDs will be used to indicate which of those
eight given hex values is currently shown. To choose one of the eight values, the user
can use a 3-bit number (symbolizing three separate levers that can be in an on or off
position), which is used to control the mux and the decoder. In case all three levers
are in the on-position (all 3 bits are 1), the hexadecimal display also must light up the
decimal dot.
