Question:
This week as Menifield described the importance of effectively communicating data, we learned the critical importance of how data is represented in presentations. As you learned, data can be presented in a table, a chart, a figure, or a graph, and how it is presented can make the difference between fact or fiction.
Your assignment this week is to identify a case study of a local, state, or federal government presentation where "how the data was presented" made the difference - good or bad. You should explain the nature of the presentation, the stakeholders involved in the presentation, and each stakeholder's perspective in the presentation. Describe how the data itself actually influenced the decision makers - either positively or negatively. Finally, conclude with the outcome - such as, was anyone held accountable? did the media or public get involved?
