INTRODUCTION:

In June 1946, when Pakistan was still in the offering, Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah met with leading industrialist to set up a national airline. On 23^rd October 1946 a new commercial airline was born.

Pakistan International Airlines or also known as PIA. Pakistan International Airlines is a national flag carrier and a government owned entity of Pakistan. Headquartered at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi. It operates 24 domestic destinations and 38 international destinations in 27 countries across Asia, Europe and North America.

Its main bases are located in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad/Rawalpindi. Its secondary bases include Peshawar, Faisalabad, Quetta, Sialkot and Multan. PIA is primarily owned by the Government of Pakistan but is regulated by Ministry of Defense.

PIA is Pakistan's largest airline and operates a fleet of 29 aircraft. The airline operates nearly 100 flights daily, servicing 18 domestic destinations and 25 international destinations across Asia, Europe, the Middle East and North America. Currently PIA employees almost +22000 employees.
