However, other than that, the two shares are quite different. BB Ltd share is a preference share paying a dividend of $1.50 p.a. and having a required rate on equity of 7% p.a. compounded semi-annually. HB Ltd has variable dividends, with the next dividend to be paid in a year being $0.50. After this, the dividend (from year 2 onwards) will grow at a constant rate, g.
