Your chosen topic may relate to a specific legal topic, such as Exxon$$s legal and public relations responses to its Alaska oil spill, Wal$-$Mart$$s response to government or private litigation regarding gender pay equity, federal regulation of private drone operation, etc. Alternatively, the topic may focus on how a business or industry, or even another type of business $$stakeholder$,$ might seek to prompt a change in existing law or regulation to better enable the company or industry to benefit itself and$/$or society and the economy in the future. There are many current and ongoing legal and regulatory initiatives in the business world that companies must actively plan to address.

Your topic must include the ability to conduct research from at least three outside scholarly and credible sources $($at least two of which are peer$-$reviewed material$),$ critically analyze the research information gathered, and reach a conclusion based on your own critical analysis of the information gathered.

Your chosen topic and thesis statement must be sufficiently focused to ensure you can address and resolve the topic in a $6$ to $10-$page research paper.
