Your post has taught me something new especially, "Evaluating and enabling employee self-service - The organization considers an employee's prior performance to help them focus on areas for improvement and accept responsibility for their work and potential for improvement" (Burch, 2023). And surprisingly for me, I learned from Lumen Learning that there are bad reviews. For example, for HR personnel like me, it's important to accept that many people fear and dislike performance reviews. Many managers have also had bad experiences when evaluating their employees; they know that they are expected to make employees change, but they do not know how to do it: they are afraid of annoying employees and inciting arguments (Bacal, n.d.). Most reviewers "know" that review interviews are bureaucratic and time-consuming, and that the company has no intention of doing anything with the information they have gathered. As a result, many evaluators and those being evaluated view evaluations as a burden - a waste of time - that needs to be completed as quickly and easily as possible
