Presentations: Developing a Presentation [LO-2]

Spend some time on the Technology, Entertainment and Design (TED) website which you can visit at: https://

www.ted.com/talks. Search for two talks which are approximately the same length which cover two topic areas, one should be related to the area you are studying and the other related to one of your leisure interests. List out headings provided in this chapter under Learning Outcome 2; Getting attention; Building credibility;

Previewing; Connecting; Holding attention; Restating main points; Ending with clarity and confidence in a table with three columns, one each for the headings, first and second talk. Now watch each TED talk carefully and note down, in your table, examples of how the speaker in each talk met the criteria for presentation development that you have listed. Analyse similarities, differences and note any good practice you could use yourself. Email the table and analysis to your tutor.
