Consider how you would react to the following hypothetical situation: You live in a state that has legalized the use of recreational marijuana and enjoy using it on weekends as a way to reduce stress and relax. Recently you have started working at a company that practices random drug testing of its employees, and you have some concerns that your use of marijuana on the week-ends could interfere with your career and reputation if you test positive for drug use. Think about how you would answer the following questions concerning your legal use of recreational marijuana: Would you continue to use marijuana on the weekends? Would you stop using the drug on the weekends and only use it during long vacations when there is a low probability of having marijuana in your system when submitting to a drug test? Would you try to cease using marijuana at all? If you decide to continue using marijuana on weekends or limit its use to vacations, would you inform HR that you use it on a limited basis for recreation to let the company know you do not let it interfere with your work?
