How might you use your public speaking skills in service of civic engagement (active public participation in political affairs and social and community organizations)?

There are many ways I would use my public speaking skills in service of civic engagement. One example that I highly see myself attending either school board, city council, or other public meetings where I would address a point in front of the public. This means that I would be on a podium, persuading members of an elected body in favor of a certain policy. I would use Monroe's motivated sequence as a structured approach to making a logical argument. I there effective civic engagement speeches require a mix of logos, pathos, and ethos. I also think that the audience here is quite large, although policy makers are the decision makers here, any member of the public should be moved by your speech.
