How might you use your public speaking skills in service of civic engagement (active public participation in political affairs and social and community organizations)?

This class gives me some helpful tips on persuasion skills that I think can be useful in civic engagement. There are always many controversial and public issues that need to be addressed, but somehow, we just dont have enough good Samaritans to do the task. A weak speaker wont be able to get people involved. Everyone can speak, but getting people willing to take action and be involved is different. With a mindset and continuous practice of public speaking skills, I can help persuade people to volunteer for social or civic participation.
