SPH$4$U $$ Culminating Activity

This culminating activity is out of $100$ total marks and will represent $15\%$ of your final grade in $4$U Physics. You will be responsible for creating a study package that will help you and your peers prepare for the final exam that will cover the following five units: Dynamics, Energy and momentum, Fields, the Wave nature of light and Modern Physics. Your study package will consist of unit summaries, original written and multiple$-$choice practice problems, as well as their detailed solutions. The final part of the activity will be a one paragraph reflection on your learning in this course. Your study package should include a cover page and be organized by the following subtitles, and then broken up into the five units for each task.

Unit Summaries $[20$ marks$]$

For each unit:

Identify two key ideas that best describe the unit. One sentence each. $[5]$

Write out common formulas, when to use them, their units, etc. $[5]$

Make a list of some common misconceptions and errors that come up throughout the unit and why they are wrong or how to correct them. $[10]$

Practice Problems $[30$ marks$]$

For each unit:

Create one good summative question that is $$classic$$ for each unit. The question should be of medium to hard difficulty. Please do not just copy an internet, textbook, or previously existing question $($no$,$ not even with different numbers$).$ Make something up $$ be creative and$/$or amusing. Marks will be deducted for copying or unoriginal ideas. $[10]$

Create two original multiple$-$choice questions for each unit. Each question should have four realistic options to select from. Same rules apply from above. Read the Tips for Writing Better Multiple$-$Choice Questions document before starting so you can create high$-$quality multiple$-$choice questions. $[20]$

Solutions $[40$ marks$]$

You will be creating solutions to your five written problems and ten multiple$-$choice questions.

Each written problem should have clear and easy to follow solutions that walks the reader through each step of the problem. $[20]$

These solutions must be well organized and neatly handwritten, then clear photos of them can be uploaded into the study package.

Each multiple$-$choice solution should identify the correct option, why it is correct, and why the other options are incorrect. $[20]$

Reflection $[10$ marks$]$

In one or two paragraphs, outline what elements of the course you found most interesting or potentially most useful for your future studies. You can reference any aspect of learning from the course $($physics content, problem solving, learning technology, study habits, learning strategies, etc.$).$ Be genuine in your reflection. $[10]$
