6. You are a counselor who has been assigned the following case: An unmarried lesbian couple would like to adopt a child from the foster care system. However, one member of the couple, your clienta 35-year-old lawyer from a prestigious law firmis not "out" to her family or colleagues. Her partnerdesperately wants a child but your client fears that having a child will "out" her sexual orientation to her parents and colleagues. How would you proceed in counseling this client? What other information do you need? What would be some of the challenges you might face?
