You are a contractor for a ride-hailing service called Hitch (similar to Lyft and Uber). You've worked for the service for a few years now to help make ends meet while you go to school. The hours are flexible and the pay is a little better than what the competition pays. The job isn't great, but it isn't bad, you can set your own hours, and there's no manager breathing down your neck.

Recently, Hitch did a major overhaul on their app. They changed the whole user interface making it look sleeker and work faster. You don't notice any big change on your end, but a lot of your customers have mentioned that they really like the new app's look. Today you have a new customer who you've never given a ride to before. She' getting picked up at a coffee shop and has requested to be dropped off at the intersection of 8th and 6th street downtown. This isn't that strange, a lot of customers don't give you an exact addresses, probably because they don't want you to know exactly where they are going, or where they live.

You drop her off at the specified corner. She takes a moment in the car to gather her things, and then gives you a 5-star rating on her phone, showing it to you with a smile and a 'thank you.' Then she closes the app, puts her phone in her pocket, and gets out of the car. You fish your phone out of your bag and check to see if there is any other fare you could pick up nearby. That's when you notice that the app is still tracking your last customer. You can see at dot on the map walking away from your current location, down 8th street. You watch, stunned, as the app keeps tracking her. She turns the corner, and walks down 7th avenue until she gets to 7th and 7th. Here, the dot representing her on the map becomes stationary at an identifiable address on 7th street.

You don't know what's going on. The app has never tracked customers after the fare has been completed before. And you saw this customer close the app on her phone before exiting her car. It seems the app was still running in the background, and now you know exactly where your last customer was going. You know there are drivers that have harrassed and stalked customers before. It's probably why your current customer didn't give you an address. She clearly didn't want you to know.
