I have heard many metaphors used to describe the CIO. These include "Head Coach", "City Planner", "Military General", "Chameleon", and "Building Architect". While these may all be accurate to a certain extent, none seem to encapsulate the essence of what an CIO does. Perhaps a perfect metaphor does not exist. Nonetheless, we do know that the CIO is ultimately responsible for delivering an effective and helpful IT strategic plan. We also know that IT strategy must simultaneously support diverse stakeholders who often have conflicting needs. State the author's position on the statements below (cite textbook page numbers).
