I think that claims processing is something a healthcare leader should know in order to do his/her job. Although they're providing the best treatment and taking the best approaches for their patient, mediations, treatments, and procedures may not be covered by their insurance company. The cost of health care is high, and as technology continues to advance, so will medical research. Health care leaders can work alongside patients to make sure that they are paying a reasonable amount of money for the best care they can receive. For instance, there are a lot of individuals who are currently on Medicaid/Medicare insurance, which means that both the patient and the health care leader should be aware of the Advance Beneficiary Notice of Noncoverage form (ABN) to confirm what services are covered by their insurance before they receive them. Preventing patients from receiving services that aren't covered by their insurance coverage will continue to promote the amount of individuals who seek care because they'll know that they don't have to pay excessive amounts of money for the care that they need.
