Business climate "is the economic and professional environment surrounding an industry or group of business enterprises" (UpCounsel, n.d.). Our group has chosen Amazon for our CLC project. The company is known for being one of the major online retailers that offers all sorts of goods and services. When considering the climate of this company, we need to bear in mind that "this includes the government and political attitude toward such businesses, their support for labor organizations, and their financial stability, among other aspects" (UpCounsel, n.d.). The company is constantly growing, with a boost during COVID-19 due to people relying more on online shopping. Locally, here in Indiana, many warehouses opened to deliver faster around the state. Back in 2022 "Amazon announced Thursday that it is hiring 150,000 employees ahead of the holiday season, including 4,000 in Indiana and more than 2,400 in the Indianapolis area, specifically" (Hopkins, 2022). The company has been growing, and looking for ways to offer better services. To be more innovative, "items that are already located within a region might appear higher on results, resulting in faster delivery" (Martin, 2023). The company seems to be growing, and expanding locally and regionally, which is an indication of growth and success. Along with that, the company seems to be expanding globally as well, by not only expanding their warehouses, but also offering Prime in more and more countries. It is important to emphasize that the company needs to adjust in many aspects, such as their EH&S policies, to prevent as many accidents as possible, and even recent warehouse deaths. Still, it is also important to emphasize that the company continues to grow, many countries are more and more welcoming and supportive of the company, and their sales continue to increase.
