In late 2016, there was a quality issue with the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 intelligent mobile phone. After it was discovered that a manufacturing flaw in the phone's batteries led some of them to create excessive heat, resulting in flames and explosions, Samsung halted sales and announced a product recall.
