Classmates 1.

After the attack of 2001 by hijackers in U.S airlines, they implemented a system to ensure the security of all passengers through screening of passengers before travel. In most cases, as much as it majorly helped provide safety to the passengers, the program underwent several issues during its implementation and build-up (Eldridge et al., 2018). The system's role is to screen every passenger and goods to ensure safety during its performance underwent several challenges before it became functional (Carr et al., 2020). First, the system was new to most people, and therefore most people did not pay more attention to it as most of the builders were not well trained for the systems to build up. Second, it required many testing and trials to ensure that it worked according to the expectation and its core role for the system to work efficiently. Third, because of the attack, they needed to secure the airports fast, and for the system to be implemented to its success, it required a lot of time and a skilled workforce, which was unavailable. As a result, the U.S built the program to protect air travel and various measures put to accompany it.

The systems implementation faced numerous challenges as it was abrupt and new with less-skilled personnel to build the security program and required for the airlines' safety (Albert et al., 2020). To most people, the program was helpful as it ensures the security of the passengers through implementing several flight laws and identification to passengers. Screening all passengers before being allowed to the flight and reflecting their details provides safety to all passengers. The security program linked to the security and police service ensured general security during passenger travels and access to flights by travelers. In case of an emergency, the security system linked to the police system alarms the police of danger, and action is taken to ensure security (Cracknell, 2017). The airlines shared the information and data of passengers boarding the airplanes with the police to keep track of all the passengers in an aircraft in case of an emergency; it becomes easier to trace and know the people involved. Such information is helpful for security purposes and for tracking purposes by the law enforcers.

Classmates 2.

CAPPS II was designed to enhance security on commercial airlines and utilizes a rule-based system that identifies passengers that may need additional screening. This system identifies passengers that may have terrorist connections before they are able to board an aircraft. CAPPS uses their full name, address, phone number, date of birth, and other identifiers to compare with collected data.

Once CAPPS was implemented there were some problems that occurred like privacy concerns. This information that CAPPS was receiving was being shared with law enforcement to identify state or local arrest warrants, illegal aliens, and terrorists.

The good thing about information sharing is that law enforcement would be able to get criminals and illegal aliens off the streets. This would make the country safer for everyone. Any help that law enforcement could get would be helpful for them.

The downside to information sharing is too much information being shared. If too much data is collected on a person their file would have minute details that they might not want to be shared.
