Objective: To provide you with an opportunity to demonstrate the required performance elements for this unit.
This activity will enable you to demonstrate the following performance evidence:
- Participate in and lead at least two meetings
- Make a presentation to two different groups.
In the course of the above, the candidate must:
- Communicate with key stakeholders to position the business to best effect including:
- listening actively
- understanding information needs of others
- adapting communication to suit the audience
- identifying suitable platform for presentations
- presenting reliable information
- designing the presentation to meet the needs of the audience
- answering questions clearly and concisely.

| Scenario: You are working as a sale manager in Kingsford Company. The company is a key provider of cleaning products in Australia; however, the company has a new project to expand the market internationally. You are assigned to take a responsibility for this project. You are required to present a range of cleaning products to new customers internationally. You must make sure that you include every important point in your presentation in order to persuade them for purchasing your products. |
Use the same scenario as provided in Section B, you must participate in and lead the meeting by following the below instructions(The number of group members and further instructions will be provided by your assessor once you have reached this activity):
- Confirm your authority and role to participate within your group
2. In your preparations and making a presentation with organisational personnel:
- Identify the presentation platforms and objectives for the presentations
- Identify the purpose of the meetings and schedule meeting arrangements to fit with participants' availability
- Identify any information that is subject to confidentiality requirements, and take the appropriate actions to protect this
- Identify the information needs of each audience and prepare a position that is appropriate for this
- Prepare meeting materials (such as an agenda or business summary) and distribute as needed to participants
- Determine and use correct tone, structure, and style of communication that is suitable for a presentation and audience.
- Allow the time and opportunity for your classmates to ask questions
In these meetings, you must follow organisational procedures, protocols, and conventions. You should participate using communication styles and techniques that facilitate interaction and reaching the objectives. This will include using active listening skills and may include questioning skills. You should be mindful of using appropriate language and be aware of any cross-cultural communication needs. You should listen to participants to understand them and their needs, and answer any questions they may have in a clear and concise manner.
3. At the end meeting, document a summary that identifies the objectives of the meeting. This should also provide a clear account of the outcomes.
4. As a final end-task, you must participate in an evaluation debriefing with organisational personnel. In this meeting, you must discuss how well you did in the presentation and what you will need to enhance for presentation.
