The training project provides you with an opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills you have acquired in the course to a workplace training situation. This second project submission builds upon what was started in your first submission and is to be submitted in Week 12. The combined total of both project parts is worth 30% of your final grade.
Instructions SUBSECTION 2A DEVELOPMENT OF ONE INDIVIDUAL TRAINING MODULE
The second submission is a continuation of your first submission. The second submission for your project requires you to:
Select only ONE of the training modules and fully develop that module
Outline your approach for effective transfer of training of your training program
Discuss how you will approach the training evaluation for your session, based on Kirkpatricks Hierarchical Model
Develop an implementation plan that describes the training location and how you will address special considerations and any trainee accommodations
Details for the above items include:
Subsection 2A Development of One Individual Training Module
Choose ONE module (any module) from your training session and write that module out in detail. The module you select should be no less than 15 minutes in duration and no more than 1 hour.
Script what you will say. It must be your own work. I am measuring your ability to develop a module which means not only what you will say but how you will manage your learning environment so that people learn; the activities you plan to engage people in, how you will monitor and ensure trainees are focused, anticipated responses you feel you may get and how to handle them.
Do not choose a module that is simply showing a video or giving trainees individual/group working time those types of modules will not provide sufficient information to grade you.
In this section of the project, demonstrate developing a module with the details to achieve the learning objectives (From Project #1) for the module. Point form in your individual module will not be sufficient. I should be able to pick up your module and train with it in your absence, even if I know nothing about the topic. You need to include information about:
the training methods you are using,
tools that need to be arranged for in advance,
handouts,
time guides throughout etc. so that I can stay on track,
detailed instructions for exercises/activities,
debriefing comments at the end of exercises,
questions you could anticipate arising, potential answers to questions, etc.
If the module you choose requires handouts, the handouts must be fully developed and included (any information referenced for your hand-outs must be cited). Information must not be copied directly from the internet.
Do not use PowerPoint slides as your primary notes. If your module includes presentation slides, paste the slides directly into this document. All project documents should be included in one document.
If you use a PowerPoint, it must be your own work and not something from the internet, or your place of employment. You can include the content of your slides, but you must also include the notes of what you would say for each slide. Do not use Excel charts.
Subsection 2B Transfer of Training
This section of the project requires you to describe your plan for transferring this training to the job. This should be divided into three (3) separate parts, each part addressing strategies for management, trainee, and trainer:
1. Pre-Training (Management, Trainee and Trainer)
2. During Training (Management, Trainee and Trainer)
3. Post Training (Management, Trainee and Trainer)
To receive full marks in this section, you must demonstrate how you APPLIED the theory from the textbook and other learning resources directly to your specific course. Be specific about who will you meet with and why. When you talk about follow-ups, be specific about when they will occur and how they occur. Review the transfer of training content in Chapter 9 of your textbook.
This section can be outlined in point form; however, you must still be specific in describing your application. For example, it is not suffic
